My name is frankie sims. I’m so happy to be here with you, happy to spend time, and interact with new friends and old….not “old” but long time and beloved. welcome to frankie sims art/Heart in Art Studio Gallery website.

I am an expressionist artist, sometimes dipping into the abstract. I live and work in the greater Boise area. Color, Color, Color - that’s what drives the visual portion of my art. Texture and movement are big players too.

The meaning behind my paintings, like for most artists, comes from the heart; for me, it’s an expression of love from years of working and living among people in almost every imaginable situation, state of health, and mental condition. The focus of my art rests on wellness, kindness and openness. I paint with hope the lessons I’ve learned in life are reflected and touch others. I try to see beyond the surface, looking and then looking again, to see deeper, find a fresh perspective in what I create.

Heart in Art Studio galley is able to open as a result of the generosity of the Alpine Wellness Clinic in Garden City. Owner and medical provider Tami Sandmeyer and I share the strong desire to help people live the best lives they can when it comes to their physical and mental well-being.

The gallery is opening with nearly 30 of my paintings. The art will be rotated with new paintings regularly, to keep things exciting. Most of the paintings on display are for sale, with a few exceptions, which are pieces on loan from private collections. All that’s available for sale from the gallery and more you can find here, on-line. Each has it’s own birth-story, so please, when you have the time, read about any that capture your attention.

It’s hard to believe frankie sims art/ Heart in Art Studio Gallery, a life-long dream, has gotten off the starting block. Now for the endurance race!

—just shy of a minor in fine arts when I graduated from USC; degree in broadcast journalism

—ongoing art education taken throughout my life in classes across the country
—years as an award winning fabric artist in SoCal and Hawaii. Retail sales in Hawaii with my business Lei Puanani of Kauai

—teaching private groups in southern california, hawaii, texas and the boise area.
