My name is frankie sims. I’m an expressionist artist, in the Boise area, dipping into the abstract. I love learning from everyone i interact with, and every experience i have.
My art is based on a lifetime of working and living among people in almost every imaginable situation, state of health, and mental condition, growing my heart and giving me a unique opportunity to see life from many different perspectives.
I have come to learn that happiness and positive energy are infectious, spreading from person to person the way the sun spreads its rays, bringing light and warmth.
I paint with hope my experiences, joy, gratitude and enthusiasm are reflected in my art and touch others.
Being able to appreciate people for who they are, and sharing useful ways i’ve found to work through life’s never ending challenges, provide the inspiration and foundation for my work: art which expresses wellness, kindness and openness.

It has taken much longer than I anticipated, but finally…
Heart in Art Studio Gallery / frankie sims art is open in Garden City in greater Boise
It still has a couple of rough edges… but not many. I have about 30 paintings hung. Plan is to keep changing them up, to keep things exciting. My art is, for the most part, expressionist - abstract, meaning lots of color and movement and exaggeration. I will be slipping in a few closer-to-reality landscapes in the not too distant future; closer-to-reality because my colors still are a tad unusual.
Swing by and take a look when you can. Most of the art is available for sale, with the exception of those on loan from collectors.
And a note that professional framing is included on paintings that are displayed or destined for display in the gallery. That is the beautiful work of Karl Gray of Gray’s Art and Framing, inside Art Source Gallery in Boise.
I will be at the gallery personally at least Tuesays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in May. Whether you come when I’m there or not, you are invited to look around, and help yourself to a free beverage: coffee, tea, water, and to rest and relax in the beautiful fireplace lounge made available to us by the Alpine Wellness Center.
